Arrival in Scotland

15 June 2023 – Ardrossan, Scotland

At the airport – Toronto, Ontario

After an overnight flight in which I rewatched all of Our Flag Means Death instead of sleeping, my mom and I safely arrived at Glasgow airport. We located Sirius, who was fine aside from really needing to pee, and then my dad and Jonas picked us up and drove us to the marina in Ardrossan. It was super exciting to finally get to see our new boat, Festina Lente, and she definitely lived up to expectations. There will be a video tour coming soon once we get the inside cleaned up a bit more – right now our stuff is everywhere.

Sirius embracing life as a boat bum – Ardrossan, Scotland

Even though Jonas and my dad did a lot of work over the past two weeks fixing her up, there are still many things to get done so we will probably be staying in Ardrossan for a few more days. The engine has an air leak which Dad is working on fixing, the generator is a ball of rust, we need to stock up on a lot of food and household items, and I spent way too much of yesterday scrubbing the rust off doorhandles with limited success.

Luckily our boat neighbour Gerald keeps bringing us treats to keep us going (thank you Gerald!!!) and has basically adopted Jonas.
